Hillbrook 2022 Laptop Onboarding
Your Before you Begin ...
Please Note:
It is important to read the guide thoroughly and follow the steps set out by the guide as you may run into trouble or get confused if steps are not followed in the correct order.
You must be connected to the internet to complete the onboarding.
You may see some "Administrator Login" prompts once onboarded. Please Ignore these and click cancel.
You may receive a pop-up advising "Jamf Management" needs to be updated. Please ignore this and click OK.
TheLogin process occurs in three stages, please take care and read each part carefully.
There is a new logon experience for 2022.
This is an Internet connected logon environment which means you will need to ensure that you connect your Mac to your home Wi-Fi in order to complete the onboarding.
Login Process
1. From the top right of your screen click the WiFi Icon, click on your home home WiFi network and enter in the password.
The Logon page will automatically refresh.
2. Logon using your email address.
For example: 070707@student.hillbrook.qld.edu.au
3. Enter in your account password.
This is the same password as your Online@Hillbrook account.
4. When prompted to verify your network password, re-enter the same password. (O@H password)
5. When you are asked for your previous local password, please enter: hillbrook2022
Your device will logon and present you to your desktop.
Microsoft Outlook
From the Desktop, move your mouse to the top of the screen, click on “Go” and then “Applications”, scroll down until you see the Microsoft Outlook icon and double click on it.
Enter in your school email address and then click next.
Enter in your school password and click next.
Click "Done" on the "Your privacy matters" window.
Click the blue button with "Add youremail@student,hillbrook.qld.edu.au" which will add your email account to outlook.
Close Outlook.
Google Chrome
From the Desktop, move your mouse to the top of the screen, click on “Go” and then “Applications”, scroll down until you see the Google Chrome icon and double click on it.
You may be prompted to set google chrome as your default browser, if so, click “Use Chrome”. If not we will have another opportunity later to set it as default.
Please click on sign in right at the bottom of the window.
Enter in your school email account and click Next.
Enter in your school username and password and click “sign in”.
You may save the password if you wish, then click “continue”.
You will be presented with a “Link my Chrome data” window, please click the “link data” button.
Click “Yes, I’m in” to turn on the data sync.
If you were not asked to set chrome as your default browser earlier, please click the “Set as default” button, and then select “Use chrome”. Then close the chrome window.
Close Chrome
Google Drive
From the Desktop, move your mouse to the top of the screen, click on “Go” and then “Applications”, scroll down until you see the Google Drive icon and double click on it.
The app may take 30 seconds to load. Please be patient.
When google drive loads, click the “sign in with browser” button.
Click on your account and then click “Sign in”.
Close the google Chrome window.
Pause for a moment until the app finishes loading.
You will then see four pop-ups of google drive requesting access to certain folders on your mac. Please click on OK for all of them.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Open the Creative Cloud app by clicking the creative cloud icon in the top menubar.
Enter in your school email address and click continue. Please do not click "continue in with google".
Enter in your school username and password.
The sign in can take 1-2 minutes. Please be patient.
Once the app has loaded, please close it.
Zoom App
From the Desktop, move your mouse to the top of the screen, click on “Go” and then “Applications”, scroll down until you see the Zoom icon and double click on it.
When the app opens, it should immediately open chrome and sign in automatically as we have already signed into chrome earlier.
Click the “open Zoom” button.
Click the OK button to allow zoom to access the microphone.
You can close the Zoom app and Google Chrome.
Offline Local Login
As we have a new internet connected logon experience, this raises the question of how do you logon when you are not connected to the internet?
Logout of your device by clicking the apple logo, and then “Logout” your name.
At the bottom of the login screen click the “local login” button.
Enter your username and password and click login.
This login will temporarily bypass the online login and allow you to access your device when you are offline.
Your device has now been setup for use for 2022.
Please ensure you keep the case on at all times.
